Today’s must read..

18 May

These are 2 columns I highly suggest you take the time to read today.

The first is from S.E. Cupp The left’s fake rainbow; when it comes to ideas, GOP far more diverse

But whatever the field looks like in the end, one thing is clear – conservatism truly is a big tent.

The second is from Walter Williams Understanding Liberals and how they think

When a nation vilifies the productive and makes mascots of the unproductive, it doesn’t bode well for its future.

Thune Train comes to a stop

22 Feb

I want to thank those who have encouraged us and prayed for us during the past several months. We are forever grateful for all the support. I feel that I am best positioned to fight for America’s future here in the trenches of the United States Senate.

Sad, sad words from Senator John Thune.  For those of us on the Thune Train we have been eagerly anticipating an annoucement from John Thune on this topic.  However, this was not the news we were hoping for.  But, speaking for myself; I trust John Thune.  He’s a man of character, faith and principle and I know he felt this was the best decision for him and his family.  And I can respect that.  Of course, I’m pretty bummed.  I think Senator Thune would have made an excellent President.  Maybe further down the line.  But for now, I look forward to watching him continue the good fight in the United States Senate.

And just for the heck of it… Here is his great speech from CPAC 2011.

Bachmann vs. Weiner

7 Jan

Last night Sean Hannity spent quite a bit of time talking with Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) and Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) about various issues facing the new Congress.  Watch here:

Don’t you love the way Bachmann kept completely poised throughout?  Not one did she yell.  Pretty sure had I been the one up against that Weiner I would’ve spun out of control.  I found Anthony Weiner’s demeanor to be disgusting and quite pathetic.  In the end Michelle Bachmann comes out winning in the class department and the facts department.  Weiner just looks like a weiner.

Good Morning…

I think it’s only right I start off by wishing a Happy Birthday to three awesome conservatives:

Jenny Erikson – A mommy,  a wife, a blogger,  host a radio program on and one of my favorite people to follow on Twitter.

John ThuneSenator from South Dakota now serving his second term.  About as good as they come and of course, one to keep an eye on for 2012.

Rand Paul – The newest Senator from the state of Kentucky!  Here’s to hoping he gets some work done for us all in Washington!

Now, to the news!

Unemployment drops to 9.4% in December.  Progress, sure.  How many of those jobs were seasonal jobs?  In the words of Obama, “It could be worse.”

Seems Robert Gibbs was pushed out of the White House by Obama’s new Chief of Staff, William Daley.

Startling statistic out of New York City says the abortion rate in NYC is 41%.  Sad.

Great interview from Neil Cavuto with Paul Ryan.  “Dead serious: No way are we going back on our pledge with America.”

Enjoy your Friday!

Ugh, Birthers.

Anyone want to know why Tea Partiers and uber-Conservatives are sometimes called “crazy?”  Because of people like this.

Unnecessary.  On so many levels.
