About

Well… Wow.  I started this blog back around 2009 and here it’s 2014.  I’m embarking on my last semester of college and then I’ll be tossed out into the “real world.”  I’m enrolled in a Journalism class, so I’m hoping that gets me back at the blogging game and restores my love for writing.  To those who have stuck around since ’09, I appreciate it and I’m determined to blog regularly again.  Follow me on Twitter. You can learn more about my views by reading my first post “I’m 17 and I’m a Conservative”

In the past, myself and a few fellow young conservatives were contributors to the Daily Caller.  You can check out our work by visiting the Daily Caller High

Dying to know if you were homeschooled? Impressed by your communication skills and logical presentation.

Just joined twitter in advance of starting a non profit CHAMPION — citizens holding accountable more politicians in our nation. Noticed Rachelle and your tweets so thought I’d give a shout out to the younger generation. I’m father of 5 (all 7 and under).

Follow me on twitter ChampionCitizen and friend me on facebook. will email you vision for the CHAMPION non profit for which I will need to recruit local chapter leaders. Never thought about them being in high school or college before but that could be rad indeed….

  4. Mark Finkelstein November 20, 2009 at 11:11 am #

    Hi Jackie:

It’s Mark Finkelstein, author of the NewsBusters item about your experience. I was fascinated and very impressed by your blog and have updated my item to discuss and link to it.

Your blog is very newsworthy because, as I wrote, you caught Norah out in a fib. As you know, as she began to take flak for her stunt she went back on the air and claimed that she wasn’t picking on a young girl because you had “voted in the last election”!

Maybe 16-year olds [presumably your age last election day] vote where Norah comes from. But conservative 16-years don’t!

    Congratulations and great work,

    Mark

Way to go fellow young Conservative!

    Hello Jackie,

Congratulations on your recent brush with celebrity. It is tough to give interviews on the spot with agenda-driven reporters, be they liberal or conservative, and I think you did a fine job given the circumstances.

I’m writing because I admire your blog posts and think they are considerably articulate and thought out. In full disclosure, I am an independent, though on the progressive side of the fence, but I hope that won’t discourage you from reading further:

I think what’s sorely missing in politics these days is civility and the constructive exchange of ideas. Conservatives like William F. Buckley were very admirable in their committment to conservative ideals while being intelligent and respectful of opposing ideas.

However, I think what frustrates a lot of the progressives is the assertion that they don’t care about their country, aren’t patriotic or that their values are incomprehensible. I might not share your values, but I give them the respect I feel they deserve as an American citizen. This is where a lot of pundits go wrong, and it hurts when I am routinely categorized as “UnAmerican” when I feel that I am anything but. Liberals are not all socialist commie fascists as a lot of Republican leaders like to assert; they have a legitimate and long-standing ideology that is very American and comes nowhere close to the evils of the fascist regimes of earlier in the century. I feel that this sort of categorization illegitimatizes the current conservative viewpoint because it is an assault on history.

In any case, I’ve appreciated the well-thought out arguments you lay out for your cause. I feel we should have more of that sort of civility in political discussion from both the red and blue vantages. It is good to remember that all Americans are just fighting for the best America we can be and that disagreements about whatever that ideal is do not make the other side inhuman.

    regards,
    Jeff

  7. Paliniac November 20, 2009 at 6:18 pm #

It’s so refreshing to see the youth of today willing to stand up for God and country, God above all else. Truly He is mighty and he shall smite the poor complaining downtrodden one day. Also Palin had two white parents whereas Obama had only one. Next time you are interviewed you might want to share that point, it bears repeating. Constant repeating.

    • jdrourke November 21, 2009 at 4:27 am #

What bears repeating is your embarrassing words here. Don’t disrespect God or our country with your cowardly, racist statements. Show this young person respect and let her see what is good in her fellow Americans; not was is sad and lame.

        Nice response!

  8. mark November 20, 2009 at 10:07 pm #

I want to be able to say I fought to keep our country where the Founders intended it to be.

So you think blacks should still be counted as 2/3s a person and women shouldn’t have the right to vote.

    You go girl!

  9. jay arlington condos November 20, 2009 at 10:11 pm #

Paliniac, that doesn’t sound appropriate–that it needs to be repeated Palin had 2 white parents versus 1 white parent for the President. What does that have to do with ANYTHING???? Who cares about anybody’s color? What are you saying?

Or is there a big misunderstanding here to what you are referring? It sounds like a comment that should be deleted immediately unless I missed something….

    Anyone? Jackie?

  10. sarasotasun November 20, 2009 at 10:24 pm #

Way to go, Jackie! You were excellent. I liked the way you confronted Norah with “Where did you hear that?” right off the bat. No matter what she asked you, your response was excellent; and not what she expected.

  11. VetsOnTheWatch November 20, 2009 at 10:49 pm #

Welcome to the Conservative world. A world where you will be harassed and slandered because of a belief… by a citizenry who preach tolerance.

Great job on the interview. No matter WHAT you said, you held your ground well. I am proud to add you to my blogroll.

    Sean~

    • Jimmy November 22, 2009 at 6:28 am #

Your post is good Sean, I feel the same way. Only difference is that I am a liberal and am harassed and slandered because of my beliefs.

I think we can both agree that public discourse can be more civil. It’s OK to disagree. We can do it like adults.

    Good job Miss.

Nice to know fellow young Conservatives are making a difference across the Nation, especially showing up the lamestream media. I would love to interview you for my blog,

    God Bless.

Love your smarts and your passion. As a proud liberal and a former Marine, I can honestly say that actions speak far louder than words. Make sure you judge your fellow American by the actions they take to help each other as well as their country. Be it through military service, teaching, or whatever positive direction they head in, you will find that the Liberals and Conservatives who actually make an effort have far more in common than those on either side screaming from the sidelines. God Bless America.

Your blog is excellent and you write very well. Thanks for being a bright young conservative, our future needs more youngsters like you.

As a talk show host, I commend you for standing up to the liberal drive-by media! I’d like to give you an ACTUAL interview on The Activist Report sometime. You can find the show at http://www.TheActivistReport.com, and my blog is KevinCrouch.wordpress.com. Please email me at Kevinscrouch@gmail.com if you can join me on the show!

The reason Liberals don’t like you is the same reason you will never find a cop who is Liberal:
Cops believe in responsibilitty for your actions, Liberals don’t.
They don’t want to be held to account for any negligent,, irresponsible behavior.

I know because I was a cop for 30+ years

I’m SincerelyAmanda on Twitter, by the way.

I am currently working towards the end of a busy college semester, but I would like to enlist your help and advice in getting NJAO (www.notjustanopinion.com) and Luke Historians (www.LukeHistorians.blogspot.com until I get its own domain) running well soon. They’re both more or less about investigative journalism and historical research utilizing primary source documents and eyewitness accounts. I would love to interview you and feature your articles.

    Keep up the good work!

I’m neither a Republican nor a Democrat.. I’m not even an American. I do read the news about what happens in the world around me and am amused daily by the partisan reporting of the American press.

What really impresses me is the fact that unlike most seventeen year olds in my country, you know a lot more about local politics in your own country, about government and are able to articulate that knowledge as well as your own opinion in a clear manner.

Hey Dave Hollenbeck, you sound like one of those muscle headed ex-cops. If you could drag your knuckles across your key pad, and have enough time, maybe you could do a search to discover that most of the police chiefs in the entire country were for making assault rifles illegal. Why? Because they give criminals too much fire power. Who would be against this responsible and common sense path? Repukes, led by the nose by the NRA! Talk about not taking responsibility! Cops like you embarrass those of us who take protecting the community seriously. Please STFU!

  23. Dave Hollenbeck November 25, 2009 at 3:08 pm #

A> You are not a Cop.

B> The Assn of Chiefs of Police were against Police Officers carrying their own weapons from State to State–because of Liability

C> I bet you live at home on your parents dime

  24. Polly Anna November 25, 2009 at 3:55 pm #

Typical right wing deflection tactic. The state-to-state issue had nothing to do with taking responsibility for ones own actions. Did you go to Sarah-the-fake-pregnancy school of talking like a beauty pageant contestant?

Care to address the original issue?

As a new Dad (Well she’s 20 months now) I have been very concerned about my daughter’s future as both a citizen and a person considering what I see young people bombarded with these days.
Just found your site. Gave me a little hope. Thanks.
